27^thJuly 2018

Walton & Frinton Lifeboat launched on service at 21:23 to Mayday from a Yacht Non Porial with 2POB with steering failure 13 miles SSW from Station. The lifeboat making best possible speed through moderate seas and heavy rain showers arrived on scene at 21:23.

After assessing the casualties steering capabilities it was agreed that the lifeboat would shadow the Yacht into Brightlingsea. At 22:10 the lifeboat left the casualty at the entrance Brightlingsea Harbour and returned to station. Crew: R. Farrance, K. Bruce, S. Berry, J. Hale, K. Leech & S. Bettany

Callout No. 10

28^thJune 2018

Launched on service to 60ft Dutch Barge, 3POB, broken and drifting 10.5 miles SSW of station. Once on scene a tow was passed to the casualty, once secured decision was to take the barge Johanna into Brightlingsea Harbour to allow for suitable repairs.

Launched on service to possible life rafts adrift and floating off of Frinton on sea. Small shoreline search carried out and items confirmed to be swimming rafts.

30^thMay 2018

Launched on service to reports of two people waving from an inflatable dinghy close to the end of Walton Pier. As the lifeboat was launching a tick sea mist had developed however the 2 persons and inflatable were easily spotting just off of our berth. Both males were brought aboard the lifeboat and landed back at the pier into the care of the Coastguards.

19^thMay 2018

Launched on service to 34ft yacht, Achary with engine failure and drifting onto longsand bank 15nm SE of Walton pier. Once on scene tow was passed to and vessel taken into Shotley Marina. Once alongside, lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.

7^thMay 2018

Launched on service to reports of inflatable blown from the shore with 1POB. Once on scene inflatable recovered and area sweep carried out for any persons. No persons found or missing, coastguards stood boat down allowing us to return to station.

Callout No. 5

22^ndMarch 2018

Launched on service to angling boat which had broken down in the vicinity of Wallet No. 4, 5nm south of Walton Pier. Once the lifeboat was on scene a tow was passed and vessel taken back to Titchmarsh Marina. Once vessel alongside its berth, the lifeboat was stood down allowing it to return to station.

16^thMarch 2018

Launched on service to angling boat which had broken down, 1nm east of Frinton On Sea. Once on scene a tow was passed to the vessel allowing it to be taken back to Titchmarsh Marina in Walton backwaters. Once safely alongside at the marina the lifeboat was allowed to return to station.

Reports of person entering the water between Walton Pier and Naze Tower. Assisted Coastguards and police with shoreline search.

Reports of possible unturned Kayak 1nm north of Walton Pier. Once on scene nothing found. Dover release us from this tasking

Launched on service to a Yacht unsure of position with engine failure and drifting.Once located, vessel was put under tow and taken into Harwich where he was secured alongside. Lifeboat was then released to station.
